The Museum of Ice Cream is an interactive art exhibit with ice cream and candy themed exhibits, all brightly colored, in a maze of rooms containing a rock-candy cave, a unicorn, and a swimming pool of rainbow sprinkles (just to name a few). This exhibit started in New York, then to Los Angeles, made its way to San Francisco and just recently opened in Miami. Tickets generally sell out fast, so if you’ve been lucky enough to go, you know just how fun it is. If you haven’t been able to go, I hope this post makes you feel like you’ve been!
The San Francisco location used to be a bank. And a room that every group starts in is a room that the public has not stepped foot in since the 80’s. Each room is a different theme and you can just about touch everything each room has to offer. Along with touch, you are given something to taste as you walk into each room, such as ice cream, mochi, cotton candy and pop rocks. All your senses are engaged through each room.
Each location in every city has different rooms thus creating different experiences. Here in San Francisco, there’s a gummy bear room that makes you feel like your in the game of Candy Land. There’s an ice cream parlor room with a fun jukebox, feel free play music. There’s a cherry room with floating clouds, a psychedelic room with a unicorn and mirrored cubby room. There’s three fun swings, a pop-rock room and last but not least there’s a sprinkle pool.
WHAT I WORE: the color pink is never a first choice when it comes to clothing, but in spirit of the occasion i tried to find items that went with the theme. I wore a salmon color leather jacket from Forever 21, black jeans, a lace up tee from Old Navy and metallic Nike sneakers. The second time I went I wore a pink sweater with a jean jacket, both from H&M, black jeans and Vince Camuto booties.
If your wondering if you should spend the 30+ dollars for this exerpince, DO IT! You won’t regret it!
