HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
Today kicks off a weekly series where I share what I am diggin’ for the week!
Gabrielle by Chanel: After many years of trying different scents, I finally have The One!. Gabrielle is by far my favorite scent by Chanel, with Mademoiselle coming in as my second favorite. Gabrielle was created by the inspiration of the woman who became Coco Chanel. The perfume is a floral scent and contains 4 flowers; Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. With all these floral scents, you’d think this perfume would be overwhelming but it’s actually light and sophisticated. This has become my new staple scent for the day.
Native Natural Deodorant: Finally a natural deodorant that works! So I am on my third container, the first one I tried was a citrus one that worked wonders. The second one I tried was a Lavender scent and it burned my underarms. I sent the company an email and they just offered to send me a new one if I could show proof of a receipt. Eye Roll* I saw that they now have a sensitive skin option so I decided to give it another try. I am now using the Aloe and Green Tea. It smells great, works in sweaty situations and doesn’t burn or irritate my skin!
- Lush Shampoo Bar: It’s hard not to fall in love with anything that Lush produces. Years ago my mom and I were walking around downtown SF, and the aromas led us into Lush. We were amazed by all their products and their willingness to have us try their products on our skin. We got facials and hand massages, it was wonderful. Learning more about their shampoo bars, the more I was intrigued to try it. I was skeptical mainly because my hair is very thick and long, I typically have to use a good amount of product in my hair. I was blown away by how well this worked in my hair. Easy to use and made my hair soft and shiny. I typically use the Jason and The Argan Oil bar, I love the way it smells and leaves my hair soft. I switched it up this time around by going with Jumping Juniper. This bar helps with managing oil production on the scalp. So far it helps me be able to wear my hair down 2-3 days in a row instead of 1-2 days.
- Lush Naked Face Balm: I am currently trying to substitute my favorite face wash for a naked cleanser. I am currently using Tea Totaler and Like A Virgin. I use Like a Virgin at night to help take off my makeup because it’s packed with amazing oils like extra virgin oil, jojoba oil, and rich candelilla wax. I run the bar under warm water to the oils going, I either rub the bar directly to my face or put product on my hands and then use my hands to wipe my face. Once my makeup is dissolved I use a washcloth to wipe it all off. The oils that remain on my skin keep my skin soft and supple through the night. I use Tea Totaler in the morning on a fresh face because this bar is packed with cleansing herbal oils like tea tree, lemongrass, sage and rosemary. There’s also a castrol oil that works with our skin’s natural oil production, this is what keeps our skin glowing. I apply it the same way as I do at night and wipe it off with a washcloth.
Botanics Simply Calm Cream: My first cannabis beauty product. This cream contains cannabis sativa oil. Since Sativa oil is non CBD or contains no THC, this is something I can use. Working for an airline means random drug tests, so until marijuana is legal federally, I will remain scared of trying CBD products. Cannabis sativa oil helps improve your skin while reducing redness and relieve discomfort. I use this as a part of my night routine. Since using this product I’ve noticed I stopped clenching my jaw when sleeping, which I typically do when I am stressed
