If you’re looking for ways to learn more, learn a new skill, or even make a pivot in your career; check out certificate programs! A certificate program is a set of courses that provide an in-depth study of a specific role or skill. The courses allow you to receive the most up-to-date skills and information you need to level up in your field, or transition to a new career.
WHY A CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS:
Shorter Completion Time depending on the certificate. Some take around 2 hours and others 6 months.
Focused Learning by developing a specific set of skills required in a job or industry.
Affordability: There are many courses and platforms that are offering free to discounted, top-notch certificates.
Flexibility from the comfort of your home and on your time.
WHERE TO START
Ask yourself, “What am I interested in?”. Personally, I am interested in learning about Program Management, Diversity and Inclusion Roles and currently, working in Marketing. My plan of execution? I look for courses in either field. No matter your interests or goals, there’s a program out there for you. From learning social media to starting a business, there’s a course for you
LINKEDIN: First things first, if you don’t have a LinkedIn account, make one. It’s free and a great place to network. If you’re serious about earning certificates, LinkedIn has a service called LinkedIn Learning. However, to access LinkedIn Learning you will need to pay a monthly subscription. I would recommend asking your employer if there is a budget to cover the costs. Earned certificates can be download for your keeping and saved to your LinkedIn profile, boosting your digital resume.
GOOGLE: Grow with Google is an incredible space for learning. Exciting news was released a couple days ago by Google. They are releasing new certificates in UX Design, Data Analytics and Project Management. These are 6 months programs and no prior experience is needed.
ENTREPRENEUR STORE : I found my Program Management course here for a major discount. The course was originally $3,800 and on sale for $49. The good news? These courses are still on sale!
I hope you find these tools just as useful as I do. There are thousands of programs out there, all made to help us all level up in life and in our careers.1
